Help
Everything you need to start editing, in one page.
Getting started
- Open the editor. You can load the demo project to look around, or start with your own files.
- Import video, audio or images from your computer and drag them onto a track of the timeline.
- Move the playhead, press Space to play, and cut or trim clips until it looks right.
- Open the export dialog, choose a format and save the file.
Editing basics
- Split a clip at the playhead with S, and remove selected clips with Delete or Backspace.
- Drag the edge of a clip to trim it. Drag over empty space on the timeline to select several clips at once.
- Undo with Ctrl+Z and redo with Ctrl+Y.
- Press K to save a keyframe for position, zoom and sound at the playhead, and use [ and ] to jump between keyframes.
Keyboard shortcuts
| Action | Key |
|---|---|
| Play or pause | Space |
| Split clip at the playhead | S |
| Save a keyframe at the playhead | K |
| Previous or next keyframe | [ and ] |
| Delete selected clips | Delete or Backspace |
| Undo | Ctrl+Z |
| Redo | Ctrl+Y |
Exporting
- Video export plays the timeline in real time, so it takes about as long as your video. Keep the tab open until it finishes.
- The video formats on offer depend on your browser. If one fails, try WebM in a recent desktop Chrome or Edge.
- WAV exports the audio only, and PNG saves the current frame.
Your files
Signed out, Replay Editor keeps no copy of your files: editing and exporting happen in your browser. Export a copy of anything you want to keep.
When you save a project while signed in, it is stored on our servers (Cloudflare R2) with the media files in it: the free plan allows 1 project of up to 1 GB and a subscription allows 5 projects of up to 10 GB each. Deleting your account deletes your projects. If a subscription ends, you have 30 days to open, export or delete the projects over the free limit before they are deleted.
